I don't know if it's just me, but I have a difficult time answering people when they ask me about my favorite of anything. So usually I try to think of the most recently enjoyed and say that...because all-time favorite seems like a bold, bold statement.
But I think that I may just say that Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite move. Maybe of all-time. Everyone should know--just in case you have ever asked me that question and haven't received a satisfactory answer.
Way cool movie. It seems maybe a little bit weird, at first, but give it a chance, and you will love it.

OMG!
No, it's not just you, I can't answer 'what's your favourite...' questions either.
I LOVE Hayao Miyazaki... and I have loved every single one of his films that I have seen...
But Howl's Moving Castle is possibly my favourite... although I love Princess Mononoke, My Neighbour Totoro and Nausicaa as well...
They're all great (although I admit, I am purposely avoiding Porco Rosso, and I have yet to see Pom Poko).
I read the book that Howl's Moving Castle is based on (by Diana Wynn Jones) and although it's a children's book, and not very like the film at all, it's still great.
xxx
Hmm, I don't know . . . I fell asleep during the first like 20 minutes, and all my roommates who stayed up to watch it told me it sucked in the morning. But maybe it deserves another chance. Maybeeee . . .
Trust me, your roommates are wrong. Anything made by Hayao Miyazaki is masterpiece. Look him up on Rotten Tomatoes, you will find that even his lowest rating film has 82% while his highest rating films are 100%.
I don't think you should avoid Porco Rosso, personally, I think it's a great movie and my miyazaki's favorite is... I rather not have favorites, they're so great
I just recently saw Howl's Moving Castle and I have to say it is one of the awesomest movies I've ever seen. I love all of Hayao Miyazaki's movies(I've seen alot of them nearly all i think) but this one is the best so far :). But I totally agree with you! I've allways had trouble answering my fave. movie too but now I have an answer.
I just wrote a post saying how much I love it a couple minutes ago too lol.
