road rage

I have a problem. I have become one of those people. You know, someone who thinks teens are selfish idiots and wonders what is happening with kids these days.

I certainly was never like that. I'm still not . . .

Observe:

This is a (loose) representation of me driving to work in the morning. Usually I get to this intersection when the cross-street has a green light. I stop and glance to my left, eyeing the horde of teens on the corner. It's like I'm hunched over at the opening lines of a track race, scowling at my competitors.

I don't know what that is like because I'm not an athlete, but I have seen movies.

The light turns green, and I get a green arrow to turn left.

BUT NO!!!!!! Thwarted! The gaggle of children begins their trek across the street, thinking that because the light is green, they can walk.

"I have the right of way, children!" I scream in frustration. (No matter that I am less than ten years older than some of these kidlets, I'll still call them "children." Who am I?)

I think I need to start taking a different route to work in the mornings. This scenario fills me with homicidal thoughts every morning.

You should "nudge" one or a dozen of them with your car. Maybe they would learn something . . .

I don't know Heather, but I like how she thinks! I was going to say the exact same thing :)

I just love the mental image of you with your window rolled down, shaking your fist, yelling, "I have the right of way, children!" That's going to make me happy all day long.

"I don't know what that is like because I'm not an athlete, but I have seen movies." I think that is what gives this post an A+. I feel the same exact way about so many things.

I'm telling you, you need a stress ball.

P.S. I love that the graphic is called "anger.png." That's almost poetic. It makes me want to write an emo song. I shall compose a verse and e-mail it to you.

That's funny. I flipped someone off for the first time in my life because he yelled at me as I was crossing the street on a green light. Pedestrians have the right of way if that white blinking guy is on! I hate those intersections.

(If it was you that I flipped off, I apologize profusely.)

I SOOOOO wish I had witnessed Margaret flipping someone off. Ugh, seriously wish I would've been there for that momentous occasion. Your visual aids are the best. Always my favorite part.

It probably doesn't help that it's 7:00 in the morning. I am full of rage just for being awake at that hour.
